High School Basketball Group Workout Program

Mission

68’s Fieldhouse is designed to provide a year-round basketball program focused on helping individuals become more skilled basketball players through high quality instruction. Our high school basketball group workout philosophy is setup to work in conjunction with the high school coaches in developing their players skill level that is needed to obtain and achieve great performance.   

We also believe that today’s player needs the surroundings of good mentors that will up lift our youth into adulthood. Life lessons start in our homes and should be echoed on the basketball court. We will also focus on developing important values and skills such as leadership skills, work ethic, commitment, honesty, integrity, respect, sportsmanship, and teamwork through basketball.

Skill development and Speed & Agility

Are you looking for individual, intense, fundamental basketball instruction?  68’s training program is designed to develop fundamental basketball skills that apply no matter age or position you play.  

Goals throughout each individual program include:
•    Improving players self-esteem, confidence, and love of the game through positive reinforcement and constructive analysis.
•    Helping players to understand the game, not just do what is required physically but to become “students of the game.”
•    Strive to instill the crucial fundamentals and work ethic necessary to become the player they never knew they could be.
•    Assisting is turning your weaknesses into strengths and your strengths into weapons.

Partner Instruction – These partner workouts are an excellent way for friends or teammates to work on their skills together. Strong focus is placed on improving each player’s offensive skills, with significant focus placed on shooting, ball handling, passing, footwork, rebounding, defense and much more..

Ball Handling

It will consist of a variety of ball handling drills that will assist in teaching a player how to change directions and speeds in creating space on the basketball floor. It is extremely important that a basketball player is able to create space with the basketball. It is an all-around ball handling workout that will assist in making you a great ball handler.

Passing

Passing is integral aspect of a good offensive attack.  It requires the use of correct technique. All passes require some basic fundamentals combined with deception, timing, quickness and accuracy.  We will work on the basic 6 passes- chest, bounce, overhead, baseball, post feeding, wrap around passes, passing with a defender, passing out of traps, and fake a pass to make a pass.

Shooting

Shooting is a lost art in today's game. Becoming a great shooter can give a player opportunities to make a team or gain extra playing time. Coaches are always looking for shooters to add to their team because they need someone to make shots and spread the defense out. The lesson will be one hour of just shooting, and will teach players the foundation of shooing correctly. It will be a building process of developing the perfect shot consisting of form shooting and different shooting drills that simulate game situations.

Rebounding

Rebounding is important on both the offensive and defensive ends, and it can be a huge advantage over an opposing team. You can literally control a game with rebounds.  We will work on the importance of boxing out, elevation, two hand chinning it, footwork, and drills to develop toughness.

Defense

Defense is definitely important of the game that can assist a team in winning a championship.  We will take your philosophy on what you teach and build upon it.

Footwork

Good footwork is so important in basketball.  Without it, it’s hard to move with the ball and off the ball. Great footwork is essential for playing defense, rebounding, ball handling, and virtually all other types of skills.  We will work on the different types of stops and pivots that will assist a player in developing the footwork needed to be a great player.
